first off, i hate interviewing people. its just so fake. i guess i really don't even "interview" in the conventional way. i don't ask the "50 common interview questions." i just like to talk to the person for a few minutes. i usually know within 5 minutes if they have a fighting chance at the gig.
yesterday was a four-interview day for a new salesperson. grueling. the first ones one run-of-the-mill. then came the final interview of the day. the other interviews had been conducted by both ami and myself, but she had to leave and i was solo for this one. so here i am, going through my spill about how hard it is to get started and how its not instant gratification, blah blah. I then ask her if she has any questions for me.
"Well, I really don't think I'm going to have enough time for this job"
"Oh, well, what kind of things are you involved in?"
"Roller Derby"
"Roller Derby?"
"Yes, we will be having bouts, that's what they're called."
"Oh, I see. I'm sure that takes up a lot of time."
"I really didn't want to come to this interview. I thought it would be good practice."
"Well, thanks for being up front."
so when someone decides to compile a list of great interviews, there you go.
